Locating, Opening, and Closing the Desktop Database
To get the access path to a database or to create a database if one doesn't exist, use the PBDTGetPath or PBDTOpenInform function. These routines run synchronously only.
System software uses the PBDTCloseDown function to close the desktop database; your application should never use this function, which is described in this section only for completeness.
